Susan Foster Obituary

Susan Louise Foster, 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 15th, 2024 at her home in Knoxville, TN. She was born on May 22, 1953 to Louise (Cookson) and Herndon (Doc) Stone Foster of Cabot, Vermont.

Susan grew up on a farm with her family of four brothers and her parents she loved dearly.  She went to school and grew up in Cabot, Vermont. Over the years she had a variety of jobs but found her passion when she took over ownership of Everyday Office Supplies in Hardwick, Vermont. It was there that many people in the area got to know and love her. In Susan’s free time, she loved camping and traveling to the Maine coast for vacations. She loved spending time with her family at her parents’ summer camp on Lyford’s Pond. She loved soaking up the sun and spending numerous hours out on the pond relaxing. Later in life, Susan moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. She began working at her church, First Baptist Concord, until her retirement. Susan had the biggest heart for animals and will be so excited to reunite with her beloved dogs Lincoln, Sadie, and MJ. Another one of Susan’s passions was working in her garden and tending to flowers. Susan was a friend to all and had been blessed with many sweet friends in both Vermont and Tennessee over the years.

Susan’s pride and joy was her son, Adam Christopher Foster. He was born in 1984 and was always the absolute joy of her life. Adam married Leigh Ann and they had two daughters, Marleigh and Zoie. Susan embraced becoming a “Grammy” as her granddaughters added to the loves of her life. She enjoyed playing with them, teaching crafts, going boating and attending their ball games among other things.  During Susan’s time in Tennessee, her mother relocated to Knoxville and lived with her for 8 years until her death. Susan lovingly cared for her mom and made sure all her needs were met.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents Louise & Herndon Foster, and her youngest brother Paul Foster.

She is survived by her three siblings and their wives: Herndon (Buzz) & Debbie Foster, Arthur & Laurie Foster, and Randy & Becky Foster.

She will be lovingly remembered by her amazing friends; Peny Weaver, Edie Menard, Yvonne King, Ken & Megan Palmer, along with numerous other friends and family all over New England and Tennessee.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of First Baptist Concord on Friday, March 22nd at 5pm with a 6pm service to follow.

A Celebration of Susan's life will be held in Vermont on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 10 am at Lyford Pond in Walden on the West Shore Road (near the old family camp).  A reception will follow at noon at the Hardwick American Legion Post #7.
